3 Ways to Improve Your

Toddler's Sleep Without

the Drama

Did you know that sleep is developmental?!

It sure doesn't sound like that when certain doctors

or other moms give you "tips" to help your toddler get to sleep.

Let's start supporting your child's sleep in the most natural way possible.

Bedtime Routine

bedtime routine changed our son’s sleeping pattern and attitude almost instantly. Within a week he was sleeping through the night, and woke up SO much happier! When thinking about what to add to your child’s routine, make sure it all fits within a 20-30 minute time frame. Longer than 30 minutes may actually elicit wakefulness! To read the specifics, head over to my BLOG to find how to implement this strategy. Remember, a new routine can take up to 2 weeks to become a habit for a child.

Decrease Device Use
... at least 30 minutes before bed.

That was easy... said no Mom ever!   ;)

Why you ask? Electronic devices actually stimulate the brain and keep your child (and you) searching for MORE. Even after turning it off, the mind continues to perseverate on the action it was just receiving.

Electronic devices, like T.V. and tablets actually increase our brains speed, so when we go back to regular life with other humans, our mind becomes “bored.” So the more movement you watch on a screen, the more addictive it can become - especially for our small humans!

Foods
... are often overlooked.

I have learned a lot about how food affects our moods because of my daughter. Think about your child's nutrition... Are there foods that are keeping him from sleeping through the night? How much sugar, processed foods, or "dyes" is she consuming throughout the day or around her bedtime routine??

If you have a picky eater on your hands, could your child benefit from a whole food/liquid supplement, kid-friendly probiotics, or enzymes? This is definitely something to consider if food modifications are not very effective!

Give Yourself Grace

It may take 2-3 weeks of implementing these changes before you see better sleeping patterns. Give it time, and most of all, give yourself GRACE as you begin new routines.
Calm down Massage Oil

1 TBS Carrier Oil (Coconut Oil, Almond Oil, Olive OIl)
